Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic clerical and office duties, including assembling documents and supplies, and effectively using computer applications.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor appointments, inpatient and outpatient admissions, tests, treatments, and procedures.
  • Maintain medical records and inventory of supplies, and order and restock as needed.
  • Accurately document patient history, physical, and vital information into the medical record.
  • Perform business and financial duties, including assigning procedural and diagnostic coding to encounter forms, and conducting pre-authorizations and referrals.
  • Facilitate timely billing by completing necessary clinical functions within acceptable standards of care.
Requirements
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Preferred: Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.
Work Environment

This position is located at St George Regional Hospital, and the work environment is fast-paced and dynamic. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide exceptional patient care.
