Job Title: Child Protection Supervisor

About the Role:

This is a full-time, benefit-earning position within the Human Services Public Health department at Hennepin County. As a Child Protection Supervisor, you will lead a team of social workers providing case management and placement services to families experiencing issues of abuse and/or neglect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direct supervision, and coaching to a unit of staff responsible for child protection services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure program compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Work with the team to develop goals, performance standards, and plans for implementation.
  • Interpret agency rules, regulations, and policies for staff.
  • Establish team procedures to ensure deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in social work or a closely related field, or a Bachelor's degree with 27 quarter credits of graduate work and four years of supervised experience as a social worker.
  • Three years or more of experience as a social worker, or six years or more of experience as a Senior/Psychiatric/Child Protection Social Worker at Hennepin County.
  • A valid driver's license and daily access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a supervisory, coaching, or leadership role.
  • Knowledge of child welfare services and programs.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural setting and provide culturally appropriate services.
