Job Description

Job Title: Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at Fortinet. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the sales organization in all technical matters regarding pre-sales, sales calls, and post-sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-sales: Assist in qualifying sales leads from a technical standpoint.
  • Sales calls: Be the main technical resource on sales calls and answer or educate the customer and partner on issues ranging from features, specifications, and functionality to integration.
  • Post-sales: Be a technical contact for identified accounts for technical issues and will work closely with the technical support, professional services, and engineering teams to answer, elevate, and resolve customer's technical issues.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in technical/pre-sales support as a sales or systems engineer.
  • 5-7 years of experience in LAN/WAN/Internet services administration.
  • Proven understanding of DNS and NFS, SMTP, HTTP, TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of the following technologies: Routing, Switching, VPN, LAN, WAN, Network Security, Intrusion Detection, and Anti-Virus.
  • Solid understanding in the following technologies and protocols: RADIUS, PKI, IKE, Certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, FIREWALL, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, 3DES.
  • Experience with encryption and authentication technologies required.
  • Experience with Security Operations and products like SIEM, SOAR, Sandboxing, Deception, or Mail protection a plus.
  • Experience with Enterprise SaaS solutions a plus.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Graduate Degree favorable.

Compensation:

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. On target earnings for this position is expected to be $200,000 - $240,000 per year. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

Equity Program:

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, and this position is also eligible for commissions based on the terms of the Sales Compensation Plan.
