About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our team at DPR Construction. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining our environmental health and safety plan (EHSP) and related programs at assigned construction project(s)/business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Live Our Injury-Free Environment Culture
  • Develop and implement career path safety coordinator(s) and provide coaching and guidance to ensure their success.
  • Lead pre-qualification processes between DPR and its subcontractors to ensure compliance with our EHSP.
  • Coach DPR/sub management on safety leadership and management practices to promote a culture of safety excellence.
  • Provide trending analysis for project/ regional data on a weekly, monthly and/or quarterly basis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Foster the development of safety programs and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans that incorporate both DPR's and our core market customers' safe work practices.
  • Assist with the continual development of new methods for abating hazards and perform regular jobsite safety audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Share findings, corrective actions and corrective plans with DPR project management to ensure compliance with our EHSP.
  • Help monitor the subcontractor selection process and adherence to established environmental safety and health guidelines.
  • Measure team engagement regarding safety management practices and provide feedback to improve performance.
  • Perform administrative duties such as maintaining regional safety files, including safety training documentation, applicable medical certifications, environmental testing and special associated training, investigation reports including close calls, injury summaries, leading indicator data and other safety and health documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience on construction sites.
  • OSHA 500 training.
  • Competent person, train-the-trainer, and other activity specific certifications.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Oral and writing skills.
  • Degree in safety management or CHST certification a plus.
  • Project experience within our core markets (Advanced Technology, Life Science, Healthcare, Higher Education, and Commercial) a plus.
