Job Title: School Behavior Technician

Amergis is seeking a skilled School Behavior Technician to join our team in the Santa Maria Bonita, CA area. As a School Behavior Technician, you will work with children with special needs, providing behavioral support and facilitating educational services.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual to work as a School Behavior Technician. The successful candidate will have experience working with children with special needs and be able to implement behavior management techniques, provide crisis intervention, and review and implement behavior intervention plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement behavior management techniques, including prevention, intervention, and consequence strategies
  • Provide crisis intervention and support students in developing independent daily living skills
  • Review and implement behavior intervention plans and assist in facilitating academic instruction
  • Document session data accurately and efficiently and maintain confidentiality requirements
  • Assist students in developing independent daily living skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines, and personal hygiene
  • Support students across environments, including the classroom, playground, lunch room, gym, sensory room, and library
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of pediatric experience preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR certification if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
