Job Summary

The FirsrArt Preschool is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our teaching staff, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment for our young students. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and implement educational curriculum, developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards. You will also be responsible for leading by example, encouraging teaching team success through modeling and coaching. Additionally, you will plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth. You will maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences. You will also ensure all center policies and state regulations are met, and maintain a healthy classroom environment, including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children. You will supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards. You will maintain accurate records, forms, and files, and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of professional childcare experience, an Associate degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE, strong oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills. The ability to work between the hours of 6:30am-6:00pm M-F, occasional weekend and after hour events for things like programs, art show, carnival, and the ability to take frequent walks, lift and/or carry 25lbs, kneel, bend, squat, or crawl are also required. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and a strong understanding of child development. They will also be required to clear a full background check and pass a health screening.
