About the Program

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to participate in our Critical Skills Recruiting Program. This unique opportunity combines a master's degree program with a career development experience, providing a comprehensive path to a successful career in national security.

Program Overview

The program is designed for new or recent technical bachelor's degree candidates interested in a career in national security at the Labs. Participants will enroll in an on-campus master's degree program at one of the top-rated universities within Sandia's University Partnership Network (SUPN). Upon graduation, they will return to Sandia to begin their career as a regular staff member in a science, engineering, or related technical specialty.

Key Program Components
  • Master's degree program at a Sandia-approved university
  • Full-time employment at Sandia National Laboratories upon completion of the program
  • Opportunity to work on-site at either the NM or CA Sandia site locations

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the program, candidates must:

  • Have a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical, science, or engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited academic institution
  • Be able to begin a Master's of Science program no later than Fall 2025
  • Be interested in a career in national security and willing to serve our nation
Desirable Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 or above
  • Participation in leadership or other extracurricular activities that demonstrate teamwork and initiative
  • Relevant research or work/internship experience
  • Interest in working in a multidisciplinary laboratory environment
