Responsibilities:- Provide clinical care to patients with pulmonary and critical care needs, including obtaining patient history, ordering labs and diagnostic studies, and arranging referrals.
- Refer patients to medical specialists or other providers as necessary.
- Care for critically ill patients in the ICU, including post-operative thoracic surgical patients.
- Manage complex patient populations in collaboration with intensivists and cardiothoracic surgeons.
- Perform procedures such as bronchoscopy, central venous access, arterial catheter placement, and thoracentesis.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and medical staff to ensure coordinated care.
- Uphold excellent bedside manners and create a positive patient experience.
- Explain medical procedures and plans of care to patients.
- Attend departmental meetings and professional training sessions as requested.
- Completion of an accredited residency or fellowship program.
- Board certification or eligibility.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
