Role of the Residential Support Specialist

Employment Type: Full Time
Compensation: $18-$20 per hour (commensurate with experience)

We take pride in delivering high-quality services tailored to the unique needs and aspirations of those we serve. Our mission is to enhance the abilities and lives of our clients through a variety of services, including substance use treatment, behavioral intervention, case management, and community-based support.

Role Responsibilities
The Intensive Residential Services program is designed to assist adults facing mental health challenges, behavioral issues, intellectual disabilities, or co-occurring conditions. This program offers short-term, intensive rehabilitation support within the client’s residence. The primary objective is to facilitate stabilization by providing assistance with medication adherence, appointment management, crisis planning, behavior modification, and skill development, enabling individuals to successfully reintegrate into their chosen communities.

Work Environment
Our program will accommodate four adults at a time in a designated residence. The facility will include staff office space, company vehicles, and all necessary resources to effectively support our clients. Each shift will be staffed by two Residential Support Specialists.

Shift Details
Shifts are structured as 9.5-hour work periods, scheduled four times a week through a self-scheduling system. Available shift options include:

  • 5:30 AM - 3:00 PM
  • 1:30 PM - 11:00 PM
  • 9:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Training and Qualifications
Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure success in this role.
Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in mental and/or behavioral health services.
  • Preferred experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
  • Proficient in computer use, including database programs and Microsoft Suite.
  • Able to lift at least 40 pounds without restrictions.
  • Valid driver's license and personal auto insurance as mandated by state regulations.
  • Reliable transportation and access to a telephone.
  • Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the first 30 days of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.
  • Completion of all required competency-based training within specified timeframes.
