Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Director for Pediatric Psychiatry to lead our team in providing exceptional care to children and adolescents. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing clinical services and managing staff within your assigned service area(s).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Direct and manage all staff within your assigned service area(s), ensuring seamless coordination of clinical services and effective communication among team members.
  • Clinical Services: Coordinate clinical services, providing psychiatric assessment and management of patients with co-morbid medical disease and mental illness, as well as initial psychiatric consultations and subsequent treatment within assigned areas.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and direct clinical services within your service area(s), providing guidance and support to staff members to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Patient Care: Coordinate patient care schedules and arrange clinical coverage schedules to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Quality Improvement: Provide direct feedback to staff and hospital administration regarding the functioning of child and adolescent psychiatric clinical services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.

Requirements:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (DO) from an accredited program.
  • Residency: General Psychiatry residency from an accredited program.
  • Fellowship: Completion of a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Licensed as a physician and a surgeon in the State of Illinois or have the ability to obtain licensure prior to starting employment.
  • Certification: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) Board Certified.
  • Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience providing psychiatric evaluation and treatment to patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual: Bilingual skills to effectively communicate with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of all applicable departmental, Cook County, state, and federal regulations regarding patient care.
  • Cultural Competence: Knowledge of age-specific and culture-specific differences in the target population.
  • Teaching and Supervision: Skills in teaching and supervising medical students in emergency, consultation, and ambulatory psychiatry.
