Your Role...

This entry-level position is crucial for efficiently processing requests for health information, specifically medical records, while ensuring accuracy and delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for protecting patient privacy by ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to medical information and that all requests comply with relevant regulations.

This is an onsite role

  • Full-Time: Monday - Friday, standard business hours.
  • Work in a dynamic environment.
  • Handle medical record requests via communication with patients, insurance providers, and legal representatives.
  • Utilize multiple platforms and dual monitors for documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities Include...

  • Processing requests for patient health information in line with company and facility policies.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Keeping up-to-date with company and facility software.
  • Adhering to the Code of Conduct and policies.
  • Reporting any work-related challenges or volume fluctuations to management.
  • Assisting with additional tasks as needed.
  • Applying medical privacy regulations to prevent unauthorized disclosures.
  • Managing patient health records diligently.
  • Ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Preparing new patient charts by gathering necessary documents.
  • Assembling medical records accurately and completely.
  • Creating digital records from paper documents.
  • Responding to requests for patient records efficiently.
  • Handling inbound and outbound calls.
  • Assisting with patient inquiries as needed.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as faxing and data entry.
  • Meeting productivity expectations consistently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Need to Succeed...

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to commute as necessary.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak periods.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as phones and fax machines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality in medical records.
  • Proficient data entry skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience in a production or metrics-driven role.
  • Customer service experience in person.
  • Ability to foster relationships with clients and customers.
  • Willingness to contribute ideas for process improvements.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

Work is primarily conducted in an office setting with minimal exposure to hazards. The role requires the ability to sit and stand frequently, reach for items, and use a computer for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
