Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Therapist MSW to join our team at MyMichigan Health. As a key member of our primary care team, you will play a vital role in identifying, assessing, and managing patients with medical and behavioral health problems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assessment and Triage: Assess the clinical status of patients referred by primary care providers, detect at-risk patients, and intervene to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.
  2. Collaboration with Primary Care Team: Work closely with primary care providers to recognize and treat mental disorders and psychological problems, consult with physicians as needed, and refer cases to other behavioral health providers for longer-term care.
  3. Patient Engagement and Follow-up: Facilitate patient engagement and follow-up care, ensure timely and effective treatment, and provide brief behavioral interventions using evidence-based techniques.
  4. Program Development and Evaluation: Assist in program development, obtain and keep available patient education materials, and provide updates on local treatment options and resources.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Systematically document treatment response, monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects, and track patient follow-up and clinical outcomes using a registry.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited college or university
  • Licensure as a Licensed Psychologist or Masters Social Worker in the State of Michigan (Limited License employees must be actively working to obtain full licensure within one year of employment)
  • Membership in at least one professional organization (e.g., APA, NASW, CFHA, MPA, SSWLHC-MI Chapter, national SSWLHC)
  • Training and experience in casework principles, including diagnosis, assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, and transition planning
  • Knowledge of Integrated Behavioral Health practices, processes, and procedures
  • Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups
Working Conditions

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, trauma, grief, and death. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, move freely about the facility, and perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
