The Dodge City Community College is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Senior Spanish Language Educator to join our esteemed faculty.

About the Job

We are looking for an individual with a Master's degree in Spanish or a related field, as well as significant teaching experience at secondary and post-secondary levels. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated fluency in Spanish, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

This position involves teaching Spanish courses, developing curriculum, and assessing student learning. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in department and division meetings, serve on college committees, and contribute to the college's mission to provide a student-centered learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Spanish language and culture courses, adapting to changing student needs and interests
  • Develop and implement innovative instructional methods and materials to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
  • Assess student learning through various evaluations and assessments, including written and oral exams, projects, and presentations
  • Mentor students, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their academic goals
  • Participate in departmental and divisional meetings, contributing to curriculum development and program evaluation
  • Serve on college committees, representing the Humanities Division and promoting its initiatives
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Spanish or a related field, with at least 18 graduate hours in Spanish
  • Significant teaching experience at secondary and post-secondary levels
  • Demonstrated fluency in Spanish and excellent communication skills
  • Able to work effectively with diverse populations, including traditional and non-traditional students
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit and stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 pounds of instructional materials, and move around the classroom to assist students. A valid Kansas driver's license is also required.

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
