Job Summary

The Residential Adolescent Therapist provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Program Director. This role is responsible for conducting psychosocial assessments, participating in treatment planning, and discharge planning for an average of 4-6 patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical social work and case management in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Walden Behavioral Care
  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions
  • Manage cases for primarily adolescent patients, with the expectation of handling adult cases as needed
  • Conduct crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with the treatment team and Walden continuum
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience providing direct clinical care in a mental health setting, preferably in an eating disorders program
  • Licensure/Certification: LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, PhD, PsyD, LMFT, preferred; License Eligible, required; CPR certification, required
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of psychiatric group process, therapeutic relationships processes, age-specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors
