Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Walden Behavioral Care in Dedham, MA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments for children and adolescents presenting with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Provide accurate and timely psychiatric diagnoses based on comprehensive evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address the unique needs of child and adolescent patients.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as appropriate, ensuring safety and efficacy.
  • Monitor and adjust medication regimens based on patient response and clinical considerations.
  • Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and holistic care.
  • Participate in regular treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding psychiatric diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery.
  • Collaborate with families to develop strategies for managing and supporting their child's mental health.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited MD program.
  • Psychiatry Residency completed from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Child and Adolescent psychiatry.
  • Minimum of 2 years prior relevant psychiatric experience.
  • Experience with adults, children and adolescents, strongly preferred.
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of MA in Psychiatry (MD/DO).
  • Board eligible/Board certified in Psychiatry.
