This position is responsible for providing childcare services for children aged infancy to preschool, as well as assisting students in achieving required levels of proficiency in coursework. The successful candidate will also provide clerical support to teachers, supervise infants and preschool-aged children in the childcare center, and assist with instruction and related activities in a classroom or assigned learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide childcare services for children aged infancy to preschool
- Assist students in achieving required levels of proficiency in coursework
- Provide clerical support to teachers, including preparing, typing, duplicating, and filing instructional materials
- Supervise infants and preschool-aged children in the childcare center
- Assist with instruction and related activities in a classroom or assigned learning environment
- Monitor and report student progress regarding performance
- Perform a variety of clerical duties related to classroom activities
- Minimum of six college semester units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Two years of experience working with functions related to assigned vocational education program
- Ability to obtain certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED issued by an American Red Cross or American Heart Association or Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) approved training program within 10 business days of hire
This position is located in a classroom environment and requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend at the waist, kneel or crouch to assist students, see to read a variety of materials and monitor student activities, hear and speak to exchange information.
