The Position:

As a key member of our IT team, the IT Network Engineer will play a critical role in delivering secure, reliable, and efficient network infrastructure that enables our organization to work and communicate effectively. Reporting to the IT Network Operations Manager, this individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our LAN and WAN networks, ensuring seamless connectivity and data transfer between our various locations.

Duties:

• Design, implement, and maintain LAN and WAN networks, ensuring secure and efficient data transfer
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering and Information Security teams to ensure secure and efficient functionality
• Install, configure, and maintain office equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Configure and maintain remote access and site-to-site VPN connectivity
• Configure and maintain voice-over-IP (VOIP) systems
• Proactively monitor and troubleshoot networking availability and performance
• Maintain accurate inventory of network equipment, connections, circuits, and locations
• Promote and adhere to industry best practices for data center management
• Document, maintain, and periodically evaluate the efficiency of IT operations through automation and orchestration
• Provide 2nd level technical support and coordinate 3rd level technical support with vendors
• Ensure network equipment configuration adheres to adopted and regulatory mandated security controls
• Expand personal knowledge and skills of networking and security best practices through regular training and certifications

The Person:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Network Engineer who possesses a strong background in network engineering and security. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in network engineering or 7 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree. Additionally, the candidate should hold a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification or equivalent experience. Experience with enterprise, operational, and broadband network technologies is preferred.

Working Conditions:

This role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to drive to any office location. Partial telecommuting is acceptable with management approval, but on-site office work in the Plymouth area will be required on a weekly basis. Occasional after-hours work is expected, and participation in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support and respond to emergencies promptly is required. Assistance with power restoration efforts is also required of all employees.
