Job Summary:

The IT Network Engineer will deliver secure, reliable network infrastructure that enables various workflows to work and communicate effectively, securely, and efficiently. Reporting to the IT Network Operations Manager, this role will work with Systems Engineering and Information Security teams to ensure secure, efficient functionality to support all operations at New Hampshire Electric Cooperative.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, secure, and maintain LAN and WAN IT and OT networks.
Work with Systems Engineering and Information Security teams to ensure secure, efficient functionality to support all operations at New Hampshire Electric Cooperative.
Install, configure, and maintain local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) office equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Install, configure, and maintain office wireless network infrastructure.
Configure and maintain remote access and site-to-site VPN connectivity.
Configure and maintain voice-over-IP (VOIP) systems.
Proactively monitor and troubleshoot networking availability and performance.
Maintain accurate inventory of network equipment, connections, circuits, and locations.
Promote and adhere to industry best practices for data center management for clean, organized racks and cabling.
Document, maintain, and periodically evaluate the efficiency of IT operations through automation and orchestration.
Support the Service Desk by providing 2nd level technical support and coordinating 3rd level technical support with vendors.
Ensure network equipment configuration adheres to New Hampshire Electric Cooperative adopted and regulatory mandated security controls.
Expand personal knowledge and skills of networking and security best practices through regular training and certifications, membership in industry and network organizations, and participation in online groups and forums.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related IT field preferred plus 3 years of experience in network engineering or 7 years equivalent experience in lieu of bachelor's degree.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification or equivalent experience.
Experience with enterprise, operational (ICS), and broadband network technologies preferred.
Proficient in network concepts and protocols including BGP, IP routing, NAT/CGNAT, VLAN, PON, and HA. Working knowledge of systems concepts and protocols including virtualization, backup and recovery, cloud services, IAM, and security.
Experience creating physical, logical, and flow diagrams in Microsoft Visio.
Attention to detail as demonstrated by thorough and careful planning and execution of IT projects and changes.

Working Conditions:

Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive to any office location.
Partial telecommuting is acceptable with management approval, however on-site office work in the Plymouth NH area will be required on a weekly basis. Occasional after-hours work is expected. Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support and respond to emergencies promptly.
Assistance with power restoration efforts is required of all employees. It may be required during regular business hours that employees will be assigned functions to support power restoration and for some employees that may be different from their normal duties. In addition, such assistance may require working nights, weekends, and holidays which may involve considerable extra hours. In order to meet this working condition, all employees are required to provide a personal phone number where they may be reached after hours. This number will only be used for internal purposes.
