Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, employees, and visitors by performing a range of security activities. The Security Officer I will patrol hospital campuses and ambulatory clinics, investigate security incidents, and respond to alarms and emergency codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of assigned buildings and property to prevent and detect security breaches.
  • Incident Response: Investigate security incidents, report safety hazards, and respond to alarms and emergency codes in a timely and effective manner.
  • Access Control: Verify the identity of persons entering or exiting the hospital in accordance with established department procedures.
  • Monitoring Systems: Monitor fire alarm and intrusion detection systems as required.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, employees, and visitors, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Documentation: Document actions and observations in accordance with established procedures.
Requirements
  • Education/Work Experience: Six months of related experience in security, healthcare, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: Possession of a valid Washington State driver's license, International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Certification, and successful completion of organizational-sponsored training programs.
