Position Overview

As a key member of our engineering team, you will spearhead a variety of stimulating and complex projects that involve diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving a diverse range of electrical engineering challenges to support both single and multi-disciplinary initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the efforts of team members to ensure the successful delivery of electrical engineering project outputs, aligning with all technical, quality, financial, and project control standards.
    • Define and communicate the scope of work to team members.
    • Establish deliverables, including calculations, specifications, drawings, and design modifications.
    • Monitor and assess the progress of team members to adhere to project scope and budget while keeping clients informed.
    • Conduct regular status meetings.
    • Prepare and submit progress reports.
    • Track and resolve outstanding issues and emergent project challenges.
    • Coordinate the completion of project deliverables.
  • Lead the team through the detailed design phases for all facets of electrical engineering work, ensuring effective interface and collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and timelines for intricate electrical modifications at nuclear facilities.
  • Prepare proposals for complex electrical modifications at nuclear facilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for all electrical engineering activities, including:
    • Engineering design change packages for the installation, replacement, or enhancement of existing plant equipment to ensure long-term reliability.
    • Engineering calculations supporting design change packages, encompassing AC and DC power studies, short circuit analysis, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting, and protective relay settings.
    • Specifications for equipment procurement.
    • Evaluation of bids from potential equipment vendors, including addressing vendor inquiries and maintaining a tracking system for questions and responses.
  • Engage with clients to validate project scope and ensure satisfaction.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of team members.
  • Identify and pursue client needs that may lead to strategic opportunities.
  • Utilize strong client relationships to foster follow-on work from existing clients.
  • Prepare and coordinate multi-disciplinary proposals.
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience include:
  • A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited program.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in designing electrical engineering systems for nuclear facilities.
  • At least three years of experience leading an engineering design team through all project phases.
  • Experience in selecting equipment and materials, as well as preparing and assembling engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
  • Experience serving as a liaison between the firm and clients in a support or lead engineering capacity.
  • Proficiency in electrical system design, including low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors, relays, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to project team members and clients.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • A detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear facility.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred.
Salary Range

$129,000 - $153,000
