Job Summary

As a Financial Manager at Walgreens, you will play a critical role in providing financial expertise and business support to drive key objectives. You will guide management on financial-related matters and decisions, manage daily financial inquiries, and contribute to the development and execution of business team priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business management to maintain a strong understanding of key business drivers, business processes, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with business management and support teams to ensure strong execution, delivery of customer value, and positive business results.
  • Develop and foster a cross-functional team approach, providing financial management support to all levels of the business team.
  • Lead the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, including risk identification and quantification.
  • Perform periodic analyses of variances and prepare presentations and documentation of budget and forecast information.
  • Address issues with appropriate teams, develop plans of action, and identify opportunities to improve processes and practices.
  • Support monthly reviews and periodic business planning sessions, evaluating financial and operational results, and contributing to the development of key initiatives.
  • Identify and analyze various investments, substantiating rationale through business case developments.
  • Manage teams indirectly across client and operational organizations, assisting in the development, training, and assignment of work/projects to other team members.
  • Participate in medium-term and strategic planning for the assigned business area.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance, or High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience with financial analysis, financial modeling, profitability analysis, and/or auditing techniques.
  • Experience working as a financial liaison on a business team.
  • Experience participating in medium-term and strategic planning for the assigned business area.
  • Experience using time management skills, prioritizing, organizing, and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel, including using SUM function, setting borders, and inserting charts.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word, including inserting headers, page breaks, and tables.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint, including applying a theme, formatting character spacing, and inserting a picture.
  • At least 1 year of experience in direct leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or an MBA.
