This role is situated within the Orthotic-Prosthetic Laboratory Section of the Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service. The Certified Orthotic and Prosthetic Specialist is responsible for delivering suitable prosthetic and orthotic solutions tailored to individual patient needs. This position involves active participation in evaluations and research initiatives, alongside the design and fabrication of specialized prosthetic and orthotic devices for complex cases.
Eligibility
- Open to the general public, including U.S. Citizens and Nationals.
Primary Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the prosthetic and orthotic requirements of patients.
- Develop detailed treatment plans that align with the objectives and needs of each patient.
- Execute necessary procedures to provide effective prosthetic and orthotic services, which may include the fabrication of devices.
- Ensure ongoing patient care and regular evaluations to maintain optimal fit and functionality of devices.
- Adhere to established policies and regulations regarding management practices and organizational standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development through education, training, and research collaborations.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Certification from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC) is required.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in orthotics and prosthetics from an accredited program is necessary, or a bachelor’s degree in any field with a post-graduate certificate in orthotics or prosthetics from an accredited institution.
