Position Overview: The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant is tasked with delivering a range of physical therapeutic interventions to patients experiencing injuries or disabilities. Working under the direct oversight of a Physical Therapist, the Assistant plays a vital role in facilitating patients' recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with patients and their families to provide education on the use of equipment, home exercise routines, and other strategies for post-therapy care.
  • Contribute to the development of follow-up care plans that align with the objectives established by the Physical Therapist.
  • Implement treatment protocols as directed, which may include modality treatments, therapeutic exercises, hydrotherapy, gait training, and wound care.
  • Record patients' progress and responses to treatments in their medical documentation.
  • Guide and mentor Physical Therapy Assistant students, technicians, and support staff.
  • Provide counseling and educational resources to patients and families regarding assistive devices and home exercise techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally, two (2) years of experience in a role as a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant.

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Must possess an Associate's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant is required.
  • CPR Certification is mandatory.
  • A valid Driver's License is necessary.
  • Auto liability insurance must comply with company policy.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work unscheduled overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Availability for travel may be required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds is necessary.
