About the Opportunity

We are excited to offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Professional Engineer Traffic Operations Specialist to join our team at the State of Colorado. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing traffic operations plans that meet the needs of our growing community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement traffic operations plans that improve signal coordination and operation
  • Analyze traffic data and roadway design features to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with local agencies and DRCOG to determine project scopes and provide guidance to local agencies for compliance with FHWA requirements and Local Agency Stewardship agreements
  • Manage various funds, grants, and projects in all phases, including writing safety funding grant applications and managing grant projects related to safety fundings

Requirements

  • Current, valid licensure as a Professional Engineer from the Colorado State Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers, and Professional Land Surveyors
  • Or current, valid licensure as a Professional Engineer from another U.S. state's Board of Licensure for Architects, Professional Engineers, and Professional Land Surveyors, with the ability to obtain a Colorado PE license within six months of hire
