The Process Engineering Intern will play a vital role in supporting the Automotive Group at Constellium, specifically within the Michigan facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Process Engineering team in executing various projects efficiently.
- Collaborate with Lean Managers to design process flows and optimize plant layouts.
- Contribute to the development of a comprehensive database for plant consumable tooling.
The intern will work closely with Plant Process Engineers on critical initiatives, ensuring timely completion. The primary responsibilities include:
- Utilizing AutoCAD to create detailed facility layout designs for production and support areas.
- Conducting analyses and recommending enhancements to process flows and spatial efficiency based on Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Evaluating ergonomics and safety measures within manufacturing operations.
- Performing time studies on manufacturing equipment to identify bottlenecks and areas for enhancement.
- Reviewing Preventive Maintenance procedures to assess their effectiveness using production data.
- Conducting studies on consumable tooling and assisting in the documentation process.
- Auditing production work instructions to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Supporting quality audits and documentation efforts for the TS system.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework in an Engineering Science Major or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-driven and organized individual capable of working independently.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for equipment layout and process flow design.
