Key Responsibilities- Financial Assistance and Counseling: Provide patients with clear and concise information about their insurance benefits, financial liability, and available financial assistance programs.
- Payment Arrangements and Collections: Work with patients to establish payment plans, collect payments, and pursue collections when necessary.
- Eligibility Determination: Assess patient eligibility for government programs, Cibola General Hospital's financial assistance program, and other options for managing high medical liabilities.
- Communication and Documentation: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless financial experiences. Document all communication and follow-up in our electronic medical record system.
- Financial Analysis and Problem-Solving: Analyze patient financial situations, identify areas of concern, and develop effective solutions to address financial challenges.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- Experience: Two years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle or a related field preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in computer software applications.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of medical billing and collection practices, computer programs, business office procedures, and basic medical coding.
