Justice Center Counselor

OneEighty is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Justice Center Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our justice services team, you will play a vital role in creating and maintaining treatment programs for jail inmates, providing mental health and substance use treatment in individual and group settings.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement treatment plans for jail inmates, incorporating evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on mental health, substance use, and crisis intervention.
- Collaborate with justice center staff to ensure seamless delivery of services and maintain professional relationships with appropriate boundaries.
- Conduct assessments, screenings, and evaluations to identify client needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Document client progress, maintain accurate records, and ensure confidentiality of client information.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices and industry developments.
- Master's degree or PhD in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology, or enrolled in a master's degree program, required.
- Licensed in Ohio or license eligible.
- Experience or training in treating individuals with significant trauma and its effects, including emotion dysregulation, substance use, suicidality, self-harming behavior, and cluster B personality disorders.
- Experience or training in crisis intervention, suicide assessment, and crisis de-escalation preferred.
- Knowledge of substance abuse and addiction treatment preferred.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with justice center staff with appropriate boundaries.
- May not currently receive clinical services at OneEighty.
- If in recovery, must have two years of continuous sobriety.
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver License and maintain a driving record that allows the individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing OneEighty's vehicle insurance.
- Must be eligible for an NPI number and an Ohio Medicaid number for billing purposes.
- Must be certified in CPR/First Aid or able to attain certification.
- Must be trained in administering Narcan.
- Ability to use a computer; proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Electronic Health Record, and collaboration platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, RingCentral).
- Ability to work independently and manage crises.
- Must have verbal and written communication skills that support the ability to submit accurate documentation and effectively communicate.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client issues and agency matters as defined by professional ethics and applicable laws.
- Maintain therapeutic relationship with appropriate boundaries.
- Maintain records in accordance with standards established by professional organizations and national organizations.
- Competitive salary starting at $45,000, with increases dependent on education, licensure, and experience.
- Sign-on bonus of $3,000, paid out in three installments: 25% at 90 days, 25% at 6 months, and 50% at 1 year.
