JOB DESCRIPTION: CUSTODIAL STAFF

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of educational facilities.
  • Execute a range of custodial duties according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Support event preparations and manage emergency cleanups.
  • Conduct general maintenance tasks and perform minor repairs as needed.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Regularly empty and sanitize waste containers.
  • Thoroughly clean restrooms, locker areas, and shower facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, metal surfaces, and chalkboards.
  • Arrange furniture for various events and meetings.
  • Provide emergency cleanup services when required.
  • Receive, organize, and distribute cleaning supplies.
  • Operate and maintain heating and cooling systems.
  • Ensure safe and organized environments.

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of basic cleaning techniques and procedures.
  • Familiarity with maintenance practices.

Experience and Education:

  • Prior experience in facility maintenance and cleaning.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, groundskeeping, and general maintenance.
  • Awareness of hazardous materials handling.
  • Completion of high school education or equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Capability to lift, carry, and maneuver various objects.
  • Manual dexterity and physical agility are essential.
  • Ability to work in different weather conditions.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA:

  • Successful completion of a background check and fingerprint clearance.
  • Passing a physical assessment examination.
  • Completion of safety training.
  • Negative TB test result.
