Job Title: Coordinator, Performance Improvement

About the Role:

The Coordinator, Performance Improvement will play a critical role in supporting the Director of Performance Improvement in activities related to day-to-day Quality Measurement, Assessment and Improvement activities in accordance with the JCAHO, DOH, and other regulatory and rankings requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director of Performance Improvement in activities related to day-to-day Quality Measurement, Assessment and Improvement activities.
  • Support Medical Staff Committees and Clinical Departments in monitoring for evaluation of patient care rendered, and areas for review and follow up.
  • Serve as a resource person to Medical Staff Monitoring Committees and Section Ad Hoc Committees, assisting in retrospective review if necessary.
  • Provide technical assistance to medical staff departments and committees in identifying important aspects of care and establishing indicators for evaluating patient care and services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, RN preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and relate to various groups of professionals.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify patterns/trends, prepare statistical summaries, and tolerate long periods of intense concentration.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Performance Improvement, and/or Quality and Safety project management preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient care evaluation methodology, including criteria development and data analysis, governmental and voluntary standards, requirements and guidelines for performance improvement.
  • Working knowledge of computers/software applications, including MS Office and quality databases.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills to interact effectively with other departments and attending Physicians of the Medical/Dental Staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred.
