Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse has the primary responsibility for the total care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient. This includes planning, providing, and documenting care and teaching rendered. The nurse ensures a plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel. The nurse meets departmental nursing care standards through appropriate cost containment and utilization/quality mechanisms. The nurse manages all supplies and equipment as instructed by the manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
- Supervise and direct subordinate personnel to ensure safe and effective care delivery
- Manage supplies and equipment to ensure efficient and cost-effective care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Document patient care and teaching rendered in a timely and accurate manner
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Professional Nursing School
- One-year experience as a professional RN in a medical setting preferred
- Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), EKG Telemetry (within 6 months), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) preferred
Reporting Structure:
The Registered Nurse reports to the Unit Manager and is responsible for supervising and directing subordinate personnel, including RNs, LVNs, PCTs, PCAs, Student Nurses, Unit Clerks, and Monitor Techs.
