Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is responsible for developing and executing both exploratory and automated testing protocols to ensure the highest standards of product quality. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing testing procedures, troubleshooting issues, and defining corrective measures. The QA Engineer plays a crucial role in our product development lifecycle, conducting tests prior to product launches to ensure software functionality aligns with client expectations while maintaining cost efficiency. This role involves monitoring all phases of software development to identify and rectify system malfunctions, ensuring compliance with quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and constructive feedback.
  • Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities effectively.
  • Design, develop, and execute automation scripts utilizing open-source tools.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs thoroughly.
  • Conduct comprehensive regression testing upon resolution of defects.
  • Establish and implement testing processes for both new and existing products to meet client specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to ascertain system requirements.
  • Oversee debugging process outcomes.
  • Investigate the root causes of software discrepancies and guide users in implementing solutions.
  • Monitor quality assurance metrics, including defect densities and open defect counts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in software development.
  • Proven background in software quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience in crafting clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing methodologies.
  • Proficient in using automated testing tools.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and scripting languages.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Familiarity with performance and/or security testing is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work in an office setting, utilizing keyboard and mouse.
  • Capability to manipulate keys and view computer screens for information access.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills.
