About the Role

As a Grant Management Specialist at Marin City Health and Wellness Center, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating grant activities to support our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our current grant funding and associated programs
  • Maintain a succinct summary document/grant matrix for an overview of our current grant portfolio
  • Monitor grant-funded program goals and objectives, work plans, and budgets to ensure targets are met
  • Prepare accurate and timely grant reports, as well as vouchering in conjunction with Finance department and program staff
  • Communicate grant information and proposal deadlines to relevant departments and internal users
  • Assist in the development and management of budgets and subcontracts

Continued Funding Applications (CFAs)

  • Coordinate proposal development with program staff
  • Assist in editing and submitting CFAs, focusing on federal and state-funded grants
  • Work with Finance Department and program leadership to develop grant budgets reflecting narrative proposals
  • Review and approve CFAs and guide them through the internal approval process

New Grant Opportunities

  • Identify and evaluate new funding opportunities aligned with our strategic priorities
  • Research potential private and government grant opportunities using listservs, Grants.gov, California State grants, and other organizations' announcements
  • Conduct initial outreach to funders to obtain additional information and determine project feasibility
  • Maintain a record of contacts, related information, upcoming opportunities, and recurring ones
  • Assist in writing and editing grant applications

Proposal Development, Preparation, and Submission

  • Create a specific project plan to ensure completion and submission of proposals within required timeframes and compliance with requirements
  • Assemble and review all proposal components for completeness, consistency, and continuity amongst sections
  • Work with finance, HR, and program leadership to develop grant budgets and ensure continuity between written proposals and financial documents
  • Follow organizational processes for review and sign-off on completed proposals
  • Submit all grant application components in compliance with funders' requirements
  • Archive proposal components in a secure, accessible electronic file

Project Management

  • Manage multidisciplinary workgroups during CFA completion, site visits, agency response plans, or other projects
  • Manage and provide support for long-term initiatives and short-term projects using the 5 key project management process groups: Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor and Control, and Close
  • Consult with project leaders regarding effectively managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and changes
  • Ensure project-reporting requirements are met
  • Secure needed training for teams to achieve performance targets
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships through regular meetings, follow-up, and communications

FQHC Designation Support

  • Support FQHC Administrator in managing all FQHC-related activities and tasks during Operational Site Visit preparation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; proven track record securing grant funding and program management experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of grants and grant administration systems, processes, and budgeting
  • Ability to comprehend and make inferences from written material, systematically compiling information to prepare reports; review work products for conformance to standards; communicate effectively with oral and written skills

Salary Range

The estimated annual salary for this position is $50,000 - $65,000.
