Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a highly skilled and experienced clinician who serves as a resource to other staff and departments. This role requires a strong background in education, mentoring, consulting, research, evidence-based practice, management, and systems improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert consultation to all care providers
  • Implement improvements in healthcare delivery systems
  • Develop and implement education programs for staff
  • Conduct research and evaluate evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes

Requirements:

  • Master's degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC)
  • 3 years of registered nursing experience in the specialty area
  • Current certification as a CNS and in the area of specialty
  • 2 years of clinical leadership responsibility
