Job Summary

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy. Your responsibilities will include assisting pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, and processing prescriptions. You will also be responsible for modeling and delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience, engaging customers and patients, and resolving customer issues. Additionally, you will assist in the development and maintenance of good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, engaging customers and patients, and resolving customer issues.
Assist in the development and maintenance of good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, and filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
Prefer good computer skills.
Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
Prefer PTCB certification.
