Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or a minimum of 3 years of documented experience as a medical assistant, along with successful completion of the CH Medical Assistant Assessment.
  • Current BCLS training and certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is mandatory.
Skills:

  • Expertise in care procedures such as phlebotomy and aseptic techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare examination rooms according to established protocols, including disinfecting, stocking supplies, and ensuring the availability of vaccinations and medications for the day.
  • Organize patient charts through pre-visit planning by reviewing the upcoming schedule and identifying any gaps in care. The specialist is responsible for obtaining necessary clinical studies, immunizations, and consults for the visit.
  • Guide patients to examination rooms and manage patient flow for optimal efficiency.
  • Gather and document patient information, including clinical data, vital signs, height/weight, allergies, current medications, chief complaints, pain assessments, and symptoms.
  • Collect additional information from patients or significant others, including EKG/lab/diagnostic test results, and report any abnormal findings to the healthcare provider.
  • Verify and clarify written orders before executing delegated tasks.
  • Collect, prepare, and process laboratory specimens for both on-site and remote testing, ensuring accurate tracking and entry of results into medical records. Conduct quality control for waived testing and maintain logs.
  • Assist with front office responsibilities, including greeting patients, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Salary Information:

Posted Salary Range: USD $29.13 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate; actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job location.

The listed salary range does not account for bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation that may apply to this position, nor does it include the value of benefits.
