Windows Infrastructure Administrator

The position of IT Systems Administrator is a full-time exempt role. The selected candidate will be tasked with the daily management and support of a Windows-centric infrastructure, which encompasses servers, desktops, laptops, and Microsoft applications in alignment with operational deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily functions of computer networks, ensuring hardware and software support, training, and adherence to customer policies and procedures.
• Conduct scheduled network maintenance, update anti-virus definitions, monitor network servers, and provide user support along with specialized training.
• Facilitate the implementation of all LAN services, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Windows Server environments, application systems, and IT processes.
• Maintain complex Windows environments, including the implementation and support of both physical and virtual Windows-based servers.
• Monitor data usage to ensure security and manage access privileges.
• Establish and maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access rights, email accounts, and security measures.
• Investigate, analyze, monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve server or data network issues.
• Research and assess new technologies pertinent to computer networking, hardware, or software.
• Act as the primary liaison with IT vendors for the procurement and implementation of software, hardware, and related services.
• Assist the Facility Security Officer with the overall security program and ensure compliance with relevant security requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in information technology or system/network administration, preferably in the defense sector.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proven experience in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) is required.
• Familiarity with Guardian Edge and Symantec encryption software, Symantec backup software, and a basic understanding of Cisco operating environments is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Capable of performing tasks in adverse or violent motion onboard a vessel.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry between 30-60 lbs over distances up to 400 feet.
• Must be able to climb steep or vertical ladders.

Security Clearance

• Candidate must possess an active Secret clearance.

Travel Requirements

• Willingness to travel up to 75% per year to various deployed locations globally.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts aboard.
