About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sprinkler Inspector II to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of electrical and sprinkler systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet safety standards.
  • Identify and document deficiencies found during inspections, and provide recommendations for repairs or maintenance.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times, and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Complete service acknowledgements and inspections accurately and efficiently, using communication devices such as laptops, smartphones, and hardcopy.
  • Follow a structured inspection schedule, and make minor repairs and programming changes to systems as needed.
  • Complete assigned inspections on time, and perform other duties as directed by management.
  • Carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs, and perform physical labor as required.
  • Assist foremen in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
  • Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
  • Be enrolled in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program, and maintain all requirements of the Apprenticeship Standards.
  • Have a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • NICET I certification or ability to obtain within 8 months of hire.
  • NICET II certification or ability to obtain within 24 months of hire.
  • Able to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Willing to travel out of town.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
