Position Summary: This position is centered around the effective coordination of mentoring and sign language education to bolster our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and provide mentoring services for families and students through the Community Outreach & Advocacy Department.
  • Deliver sign language education for various programs, including community, family, and corporate partner classes.
  • Revise and maintain the curriculum for sign language education and mentoring.
  • Oversee registration, enrollment, and survey data management.
  • Conduct outreach and educational initiatives regarding our programs.
  • Support the Community Outreach & Advocacy team as needed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in the Deaf community with a solid understanding of available resources.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with a preference for ASL as the primary language and familiarity with Deaf culture.
  • A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and eligibility for agency-approved driving.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the values of the organization.
  • A strong endorsement of a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.
