Position Summary: This position is centered around the effective coordination of mentoring and sign language education to bolster our programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and provide mentoring services for families and students through the Community Outreach & Advocacy Department.
- Deliver sign language education for various programs, including community, family, and corporate partner classes.
- Revise and maintain the curriculum for sign language education and mentoring.
- Oversee registration, enrollment, and survey data management.
- Conduct outreach and educational initiatives regarding our programs.
- Support the Community Outreach & Advocacy team as needed.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year of experience in the Deaf community with a solid understanding of available resources.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with a preference for ASL as the primary language and familiarity with Deaf culture.
- A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and eligibility for agency-approved driving.
- A demonstrated commitment to the values of the organization.
- A strong endorsement of a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.
Work Environment: This position may require travel and varying physical demands. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities to effectively fulfill job responsibilities.
