Job Title: Engineering Manager

This is a key leadership role within AY Manufacturing, Ltd.'s management team, significantly impacting the company's operating results. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with all levels within the organization, committed to continuous improvements, and able to create and maintain a collaborative culture within the team and organization.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all manufacturing, electrical controls, maintenance, and industrial engineering functions and personnel.
  • Develop, design, and implement manufacturing systems, processes, tooling, and fixtures to enhance productivity and reduce operating costs.
  • Plan and formulate all project aspects, including research, development of proposals, associated costs, equipment, and human resources requirements.
  • Manage production assembly work measurement systems with proven experience in MOST Time Measurement Technique.
  • Participate in determining staffing requirements for production based on demand levels and labor analysis.
  • Ensure production capacity exists to meet current and future demand levels.
  • Develop and foster a continuous improvement culture in all areas of operations.
  • Develop business plans and budgets for the Engineering group and correlate objectives/targets.
  • Manage the group and ensure completion of objectives and support teams' professional development.
  • Prepare reports for various departments, executive management, and other company officials upon request.
  • Ensure that all processes and layouts follow/meet all safety and ergonomic principles.
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of leadership and related experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Lean/Sigma Certification preferred.
  • Understand manufacturing concepts like Value Stream mapping, 5S, and Visual Workplace to improve quality, labor efficiency, and output.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • High attention to detail, ability to multitask, and prioritize assignments/projects.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels to ensure buy-in.
  • Proficient with Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MOST, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of Theory of Constraints (bottleneck analysis).
  • Proven project management experience.
