About the Role:
As an Electrical Construction Project Engineer at Sturgeon Electric Company, you will play a crucial role in supporting functions related to construction management in the electrical construction industry. Your projects may include work for federal, state, and municipal clients throughout the Denver metro area.

The Project Engineer assists with the preparation of plans, applicable specifications, and interfaces with senior project management professionals. This position involves some minor travel, encompassing work sites in the assigned project area. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.

Company Overview Sturgeon Electric Company, a subsidiary of MYR Group, Inc, has provided comprehensive electrical construction services to clients throughout the western U.S. since 1912. The company has two divisions, offering both power line construction and commercial/industrial electrical construction, making it a full-service electrical provider.

Essential Functions
1. Interpret applicable construction drawings
2. Assist with the review of plans and specifications and prepare a checklist of contract features which require periodic attention
3. List items the sub-contractor must submit for approval prior to the start of the work
4. Assist with cost estimates and project scheduling as needed
5. Ensure maintenance of accurate records
6. Assist with preparing statements of work, submittals, change management, and necessary daily and weekly reporting
7. Promote safety in construction operations and ensure compliance with safety requirements
8. Inspect equipment, material, workmanship, and finished construction
9. Check progress of work in the field
10. Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed, and materials used conform to required specifications

About You:
Project Engineer I Qualifications
Minimum - 3 years of experience in the construction process of commercial electrical operations or general construction experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; a combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.

Project Engineer II Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the construction process of commercial electrical operations or general construction experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; a combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to read blueprints and drawings
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Possess strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and/or Primavera at an intermediate or higher level
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think practically while remaining detail-oriented
