Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager Intern to join our team of experts in Irvine, California. As a Project Manager Intern, you will have the opportunity to assist Project Managers with various tasks, including estimating, scheduling, design meetings, buyout, permitting, shop drawing and submittal review, billing, and job site visits.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with estimating, scheduling, and design meetings to ensure project proposals are accurate and timelines are met.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and trades to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Attend design meetings with owners and teams to understand design proposals and structural engineers' recommendations.
  • Send bid instructions, schedules, and drawings to subcontractors, receive and evaluate proposals, and award subcontracts.
  • Fill out permit forms, submit forms with drawings and fees, and wait for approval from city, county, or fire departments.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals from subcontractors, communicate with Project Managers, and ensure that subcontractors can begin ordering materials and working.
  • Process subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, and pay applications.
  • Visit job sites with Project Managers to ensure projects are running smoothly and address any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, or Construction Management Bachelor's degree program.
  • Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0.
  • Previous internship or co-op construction experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong work ethic.
