Job Summary:

As an Interventional Radiologic Technologist at Advocate Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team. Your expertise in operating angiographic equipment and assisting with interventional and surgical procedures will be essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Competently operate angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including biopsies, vascular stenting, and embolization.
• Assist physicians and residents with basic interventional and surgical procedures, providing support and guidance as needed.
• Monitor patients and alert staff to any life-threatening changes in patient status, applying the defibrillator and performing CPR when required.
• Identify and process images, ensuring they meet diagnostic quality standards, and assist with evaluating digital equipment to maintain image quality.
• Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure accurate exam performance and post-process images as directed, labeling them with patient information and location.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, documenting billing codes for procedures performed.
• Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and lifting up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist, and pushing/pulling with 30 pounds of force.

Requirements:

• Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
• Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months, unless department leader has determined it is not required.
• Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology from an accredited or approved program.

Working Conditions:

• May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, requiring personal protective equipment as necessary.
• Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing, and operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
