Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Interventional Radiology Technologist to work in our state-of-the-art imaging department. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for operating angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, assisting with interventional and surgical procedures, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Competently operate angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including biopsies, para/thoracentesis, abscess drainages, and peripheral vascular stenting.
  • Act as a scrub assistant on basic interventional and surgical procedures, receiving direction from attending and resident physicians.
  • Monitor patients and alert staff of life-threatening changes in patient status, applying the defibrillator and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation when required.
  • Identify and process images, ensuring they are of diagnostic quality, and assist clinical engineering staff in evaluating digital equipment to maintain consistent image quality.
  • Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure ordered exam accuracy, post-process images as directed, and accurately identify and label images.
  • Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies, enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes of procedures performed.
  • Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements:
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months, unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Competent in basic radiology positioning and techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic radiation safety and aseptic techniques.
  • Knowledge of anatomy that includes vascular and/or cerebral.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients, and other staff members.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions:

The Interventional Radiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced imaging department, requiring the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. The position may be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids, requiring the use of personal protective equipment as necessary.

Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing, and operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
