Auto Body Repair Professional

About the Role:
The Auto Body Technician will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service by assessing and repairing vehicles to their pre-accident condition.
This role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision, read job orders, and understand methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade and be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and repair vehicles to their pre-accident condition
- Read job orders and work with minimal supervision
- Understand methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies
- Use various tools to repair sections of a vehicle
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage
- Remove and replace damaged sections of vehicles
- Repair or replace interior parts as needed
- Weld and attach parts into place
- Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines
- Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure all work has been executed correctly
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of technical school program or 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
