Crum & Forster is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter to join our team in the Retail Umbrella - Construction segment. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for managing a complex book of business, analyzing risks, and developing strategies to drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a highly complex Excess Casualty book of business, primarily focused on Construction-related risks.
  • Analyze and evaluate risks, determining profitable rate/price and preparing quotations/binders.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to existing accounts, building strong relationships and driving retention.
  • Market, sell, and promote company products and programs to assigned producers, identifying new business opportunities.
  • Review and evaluate profit, volume, and service results for assigned producers, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement annual business plans, analyzing and evaluating results to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent, with a strong background in underwriting and risk analysis.
  • Five+ years of experience in underwriting Commercial Umbrella/Excess business, with a focus on Construction-related risks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with producers and customers.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
