We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant I-CNA to join our team at Northern Light Mercy Hospital. As a key member of our Float Pool, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to patients and families in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position working 30 hours per week with a rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, nights, and weekends. You will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients, and changing linens. You may also transfer or transport patients as needed.
Responsibilities- Communicate and interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare members to achieve successful customer outcomes and maximize unit function.
- Precept team members on job functions and orient patients to hospital environment and routine.
- Attend and serve on one unit committee or educational peer opportunity to improve quality and engagement.
- Document all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
- Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives.
- Communicate patient needs to oncoming staff at change of shift and to RN in a timely manner for follow-up.
- Provide care in accordance with patient's plan of care.
- Label and deliver specimens per policy.
- Maintain a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures; report and directly address environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- No minimum education requirement.
- Lifting, moving, and loading up to 50 pounds.
- Alternate shift schedules.
The estimated salary for this position is approximately $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
