The Early Childhood Portfolio at EDC is seeking a Project Director to oversee a national training and technical assistance center focused on enhancing early childhood systems at the state and territory levels. This role is contingent upon funding and presents a unique opportunity for a candidate with substantial experience in early childhood education and state agency operations.
The Project Director will be responsible for leading a significant early childhood training and technical assistance initiative, which includes managing project teams, overseeing budgets, timelines, and work plans, as well as ensuring compliance with federal reporting requirements. This position will involve regular interaction with national stakeholders and collaboration with other capacity-building projects to optimize resources and impact.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the programmatic and technical success of the project while maintaining financial viability.
- Collaborate with funders, colleagues, and partners to lead and manage technical assistance activities.
- Set priorities, evaluate progress, and report on strategic plan variances.
- Assess resource needs and negotiate allocations to meet project demands.
- Provide senior-level technical support on early childhood system priorities.
- Present project outcomes in public forums and publications.
- Drive business development initiatives to generate additional work for EDC.
Education:
Master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, preferably in early childhood education.
Experience:
8–10 years of relevant experience in early childhood education and systems development, demonstrating strong leadership and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience with state agencies managing complex projects with budget oversight and staff supervision. Proven track record in advancing cross-sector collaboration and systems transformation for young children and families.
