The Family Employment Specialist (FES) plays a crucial role in empowering families to enhance their job readiness skills, pursue educational opportunities, and secure employment that fosters family stability.
The FES is tasked with providing comprehensive vocational case management, along with referrals and support services tailored to family needs. This position involves the development and execution of a Parent Training Program aimed at equipping families with essential skills.
Collaboration is key, as the FES works closely with staff, families, and community partners to ensure effective service delivery. Regular coaching, feedback, and annual performance evaluations with supervisors are integral to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality program services that are developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate.
- Support school readiness through a coordinated approach to comprehensive services, in alignment with relevant performance standards and regulations.
- Identify family strengths and needs in relation to engagement outcomes as outlined in the Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Framework.
- Engage families in a partnership process to assess needs, interests, strengths, and goals, facilitating access to resources that promote family well-being.
- Research and recommend community resources to enhance family support.
- Design and implement a Parent Training Program (PTP) that offers families opportunities to engage in various roles within the organization.
- Integrate strategies across all systems and program services to bolster family well-being and promote children's learning and development.
- Establish partnerships to enhance access to employment and educational opportunities.
- Maintain professional relationships with staff, families, and community organizations.
- Assist families in understanding economic stability and mobility.
- Participate in the identification and recruitment of eligible families.
- Maintain regular communication with families to ensure ongoing support.
- Provide referrals to community resources that align with family needs and follow up as necessary.
- Engage in agency and community events to promote family economic mobility through education and training.
- Support staff in acquiring and sharing knowledge and skills necessary for delivering high-quality services.
- Facilitate educational and employment support services for parents.
- Encourage family participation in agency programs aimed at strengthening economic stability.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
