Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Soliant in Oak Park, IL. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students within the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough evaluations of students' speech and language abilities, including standardized tests, observations, and interviews. Diagnose speech and language disorders and determine eligibility for services.
  • Individualized Treatment: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment plans based on assessment results. Provide direct therapy services to students with communication disorders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support students' educational goals. Offer guidance on strategies to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, therapy sessions, and assessment results. Prepare reports for IEP meetings and communicate findings to parents and school personnel.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and special education. Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for students' needs and ensure they receive appropriate accommodations and modifications to support their learning and communication development.
Qualifications
  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Valid Illinois state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Experience: Prior experience working in a school setting preferred, but not required. Experience with IEP development and implementation is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals and families.
  • Personal Qualities: Empathy, patience, and a passion for helping students succeed. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
