Job Title: Load Forecast Specialist

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Load Forecast Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our forecasting group, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in load forecasting, sales, and revenue forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new strategies, programs, and processes to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead the load forecasting group and present recommendations to management and client organizations.
  • Critically review model inputs and output for load forecast and load research projects.
  • Verify the accuracy of the load forecast and identify potential issues that may impact the forecast.
  • Develop long-term load and customer forecasts using statistical and end-use modeling techniques.
  • Analyze and interpret load research data to explain weather effects on customer usage and forecasted impact.
  • Utilize outside sources of information to interpret and support forecasted results and actual load evaluations.
  • Collect and verify the accuracy of data for new and existing demand, energy efficiency expectations, economic indices, and demand side management assumptions.
  • Prepare reports, testimony, and business presentations on the load forecast, highlighting drivers such as economic factors, weather, and energy efficiency programs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of related analytical work experience.
  • Research and analytical skills, including the ability to obtain relevant data, evaluate complex situations, develop creative alternatives, provide recommendations, and negotiate outcomes.
  • Ability to adapt to a complex, continuously evolving business environment with tight deadlines and demanding target work.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish trust, maintain confidence, and understand social behavior and interactions.
  • Ability to work with all organizational levels to influence actions and negotiate outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of statistical forecasting software and relational databases.
  • Knowledge of business planning and forecasting concepts, practices, and techniques.
  • Experience with manipulating large data sets.
  • Demonstrated project and process management skills.

We offer a competitive salary range of $100,700 - $118,400 and an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15.00% of salary.
